Costs Associated With Our Adoption


(Travel costs include travel for four. We will be taking our girls with us as we couldn't bare the thought of being away from them for 6-8 weeks.)

$1,500 - Home Study (completed in June 2012)
$135 - Official copies of birth certificates (obtained in May 2012)
$160 - Passports for the girls (received in June 2012)
$300 - Trip supplies (Snacks, bug repellent, sunscreen, flashlights, batteries, etc.)
$1200 - Immunizations and Anti-Malaria Meds (Christy needs one vaccination and the girls need two each)
$200 - Visa entering Uganda ($50 each)
$890 - USCIS (immigration approval)
$20 - Printed background check from police (Feb 2012)
$300 - Education classes
$4,500 - UG Attorney Fees
$550 - Adopted child's birth certificate and passport
$110 - Adopted child's medical exam
$230 - Adopted child's Visa
$300 - Fed Ex charges for Dossier papers
$80 - Wire fund charges to Uganda
$200 - Private Investigation
$9,000 - Plane Tickets (4 2-way tickets, 1 1-way ticket)
$4,000 - Lodging in Country (6-8 weeks stay)
$3,000 - Transportation in Country
$2,400 - Food and supplies in Country
$2,520 - Adoption Finalization in US (includes U.S. Court adoption, citizenship certificate, birth certificate, and court costs)
$2,500 - Post-adoption service fees
