We first flew to Chicago where, unfortunately, our plane had mechanical issues which caused us to miss our flight out of Brussels. And while at the Brussels airport, Mackenzie got the full frisking which took us aback & made us forget our laptop at the security checkpoint. (Never fear - amazingly we had friends that flew through Brussels to Uganda a few weeks later so we got out laptop back!) The next flight to Uganda left the next morning at 6 and was rerouted through Amsterdam so we had to stay the night in Belgium. We were quite the site gathering up all our luggage and catching our shuttle to our hotel that night. It did feel so good to take a shower and sleep in a bed before our next long flight to Uganda.

It took 3 days but we finally landed in Uganda on Friday, March 1st. The first night we stayed at the J. Residence Motel, located close to the airport in Entebbe. Mackenzie & I shared a room & Steve and Abby shared a room as it's a little difficult to find hotels that can board 4 people in one room. Here's pics of our room and Mackenzie learning to brush her teeth with bottled water & sleeping under a mosquito net for the first time...
Finally made it to Uganda! Let the adventure begin!
